The Callensburg-Licking Township Volunteer Fire Company
recently celebrated their 50th
Anniversary. a dedication of the new truck garage was held
along with the 50th
Anniversary Party.
Local
historian, Arnold Kepple, has published a 51 page history of the Fire
Company. This book has 250 pictures from the company's beginning up to
the completion of the truck garage. There are pictures of the
anniversary and dedication ceremony. Pictures have been collected of
the founding members, people working on the different fund raising and
other activities over the past fifty years. There is also a written
history taken from the minute's books, newspaper articles and
interviews with the early members. A roster of the current and past
members is included.
The cost of the book is $10. The Fire
Company will receive the total amount since the cost of publishing the
book was donated. This book can be purchased from most Fire Company
members, and at Fire
Chief Shad Mohney's garage. The 368 Garage is about one mile
west of Callensburg on Route 368.
